Achnagairn Castle Weddings
Located a short drive from Inverness, Achnagairn Castle is a beautifully kept luxury castle that makes for a perfect location for all kinds of celebrations.
Initially built as a family home, the estate is now owned and cared for by Perfect Manors, who have done an excellent job of developing the castle’s facilities while retaining all of the charm and character that makes it such a special location for celebrations.
The Ballroom at Achnagairn Castle
The jewel in the crown at Achnagairn is undoubtedly the Ballroom, initially added as an extension to the original house in 1912, and the beating heart of most celebrations at Achnagairn. The ballroom features a beautiful vaulted ceiling with a minstrels gallery that runs along one side of the room and a wooden floor that makes for an excellent dance space.
Achnagairn Castle Weddings
Achnagairn Castle has become one of the most sought after venues in the Scottish Highlands with a variety of events taking place at the castle. As well as corporate events the Ballroom has also been utilised as a filming location for multiple tv shows including the Apprentice and The Bachelorette.
The castle has also been the location for many weddings, with couples coming from near and far to celebrate their wedding with friends and family while enjoying the privacy and exclusivity that Achnagairn offers.
With the full castle available to book out for multiple day stays, many couples choose to spread out their wedding celebrations, an excellent opportunity to make the most of your celebrations and to spend the extra time with your family, friends and invited guests.
The castle has a variety of en suite accommodation, including rooms in the castle itself, and the neighbouring mini manors that also make up part of the castle estate. Between both options there is a range of accommodation options to ensure a luxurious space to unwind before and after your celebrations.
After your wedding ceremony guests can spill out onto the front lawn of the castle for a celebratory drink while the ballroom is transformed from ceremony to reception venue. For more intimate affairs or for when the weather is not as favourable, the interior reception rooms also make for a great space to unwind and celebrate with your guests.
The Achnagairn team are always on hand to help guide couples through the wedding day, making sure every detail is taken care of.
The Grounds at Achnagairn Castle
The grounds at Achnagairn are expansive, providing a variety of beautiful backdrops for wedding photography all year round.
The pathway from the front lawns of the castle leads down to a formal garden including a mazed pathway and stone arch. Pathways around the castle feature a range of different trees, and some of my favourite locations for capturing some images of the happy couple. Couples looking to make even more of their celebrations can also consider adding an additional photography session as part of their honeymoon celebrations, exploring more of the beautiful Scottish Highlands while capturing some images.
