I realise that not everybody enjoys being in a studio environment which is why the majority of my portrait work is based on location.

I aim to keep sessions as relaxed as I can and normally aim to spend a period of time allowing the subjects being photographed to get used to the idea of a camera being around! With kids and families that normally means finding a space that kids are happy in and lettign them explore from there.

My commercial portraiture works in the same way – normally having time to watch a subject at work before deciding how best to photograph them.
