Congratulations on your engagement – it’s an exciting time!

As a photographer I have been shooting weddings for the last 12 years – with around 500 weddings worth of experience under my belt. I photograph both big weddings and ‘little’ weddings – usually elopements or destination weddings for those choosing to come to Scotland to get married. With Covid causing havoc to wedding planning, small weddings, road trip weddings through the highlands and elopement weddings offer lots of opportunities to pursue getting married in Scotland!

I aim to photograph weddings as naturally as they happen, while mixing in a variety of group shots to ensure that you have a good record of the people you’ve invited to share your wedding day with you. Although based in Inverness, I am happy to cover weddings throughout the UK and overseas and have had the pleasure of capturing weddings in the USA, India and England in addition to shooting weddings all over Scotland.

As a photographer I aim to capture the mood of the people or environment I am photographing, to help you make the most of your wedding day and the memories it offers, while hopefully doing that in a relaxed and fun manner!

I realise that the idea of having your photo taken can be a strange experience for some – that’s ok – I’ll work with you to make sure we can make the experience as enjoyable as possible, while capturing a range of images to help give you memories for years to come.

In the 15 years I’ve been shooting weddings, I’ve shot weddings in 3 different continents, and in venues from Treehouses to Distilleries. I’ve also seen my fair share of beautiful hotels, country estates, castles and beach weddings. I particularly love photographing weddings in Marquees – and working with couples who like to have fun along the way.

Before a wedding I will always work through a schedule with a couple to make sure that while photographing in a candid manner I’m also aware of the people and things that are especially important to you.

Frequently asked questions about Wedding Photography

What is your wedding photography style?
My photography style focuses on candidly capturing the story of your day, while mixing in a number of group shots to capture your friends and family. While concentrating on the candid coverage of the day, I work with nine chapters of the day – to make sure I can cover as much of the detail as possible. I’ll always provide couples with a sample schedule before the wedding, so that you can let me know the details of the wedding, names of your bridal party etc.
Do you only photograph weddings in the Highlands?
No, I cover weddings all over Scotland, and further afield! I’ve been privileged to photograph weddings in India, Alabama, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Colorado. If you are planning a wedding a little further afield, please get in touch – I’d love to hear from you.
Can you recommend a good videographer?
Yes,  I have a few videographers that I am always happy to recommend. Thistle Production in Nairn and Hebridean Wedding Story are two of the teams that I work with most often, but please get in touch if you would like some advice before booking your wedding videographer.
Do you cover Elopements?
Yes, elopements are some of my favourite jobs to cover – I especially love being able to go and explore parts of the beautiful Scottish Landscape with a wedding couple. Do you offer a midweek discount?
Occasionally I will offer a midweek discount for wedding booked for an available date during the months of April to October. Midweek bookings refer to Monday – Thursday weddings and discounts are not available on my base package or Highland Heart Packages.
Will we have digital copies of our photos?
Yes, all of the images that make your final cut (post edit) are supplied to you digitally. Images are normally provided on a USB, with an additonal password protected gallery online and a collection of images from your session presented in a digial album – perfect for mobile phones and tablet devices.
