Bruichladdich Whisky Photography
I was initially commissioned by Bruichladdich Distillery to shoot a new series of images to commemorate the launching of their new 10 yr whisky, 10 years after the distillery was brought back to life.
The main body of work featured a range of portraits of the distillery team in addition to a collection of images of the Rhinns of Islay where the distillery is located.
Specialising in observational documentary photography, I made multiple trips to the distillery for a variety of different projects, including shooting the new images for some of the Whisky tins for the Port Charlotte (PC) range.
As well as photographing within the distillery, it was also a privilege to shoot images of some of the people and places that influence the production of the Whisky and Gin that Bruichladdich produce, including many of the local farmers.
Since shooting those first images with Bruichladdich it has been my privilege to capture images for many of Scotland’s most well known distilleries as well as some of the newest. It has been a particular privilege to capture images for businesses at all stages of the supply chain, helping to see all that goes into supporting this most iconic of Scottish exports.

Yes, I do. I have a collection of images from a wide variety of distilleries and across the Scottish Whisky supply chain.

Yes, my kit bag now includes a range of tools for content capture, including audio and video. Along with my sister business Tentmaker Creative I often develop marketing assets from concept to creation, providing a one stop solution for marketing projects.
Partnering with Bairds Malt
Bairds Malt have been crafting quality malt for over 200 years. As a partner to some of the worlds leading breweries and distilleries they play a key part in working alongside growers of malting barley throughout the UK to support a full range of key players in the brewing and distilling industries.
The initial photography commission from Bairds Malt was to create a range of images in support of a new range of 6 premium malts that had been developed. Since then I have continued to shoot a wide range of images documenting the process, places and personalities involved with the business.
In addition to photographing Bairds six sites across the UK, I have also worked with Bairds Malt to document a range of farmers growing the barley for Bairds, in addition to a range of Bairds brewing and distilling clients in breweries and distilleries across Scotland and England.
Bairds have now been using these images in a range of print and online marketing collateral – with advertising concepts developed my partner business, Tentmaker Creative. A range of social media channels have also been developed, to include an Instagram, Facebook and Twitter page, each of which is helping to tell more of Bairds story to a growing audience.
