Stornoway Wedding Photographer

Candid, Documentary Photography on your wedding day throughout the Hebrides

My maternal roots are in the Hebrides – my mother was from Gravir, and from my base in Inverness I return frequently to photograph weddings, portraits and commercial jobs.

With the multitude of beautiful beaches that are often empty of other people, mixed with some of the best hospitality in Scotland, Lewis is a special place for a wedding.

My style focuses on photographing each wedding in a documentary style with a mixture of group shots of the bridal party, your family and friends.

Alongside the newly refurbished Lews Castle in Stornoway, the Stornoway Town Hall also makes a great location for a wedding – along with the Caberfeidh hotel – the staff there are some of the best I’ve come accross in twelve years of photographing weddings – Debbie is a gem!

I also frequently photograph wedddings at many of the community halls across the Island, especially in Breasclete – seeing a community come together to put on a wedding for a newly married couple really is a special sight.

Whichever part of the island you are planning in getting married on, I’d be glad to advise on my wedding photography services – send me an e-mail at the link below.

Stornoway Wedding Photography FAQ’S

Is travel included in your packages?
A base rate of 50 miles is included in my wedding photography packages. Costs for travel or accomodation, where required, are charged at cost.

For a wedding on the Isle of Lewis that would normally be the return cost of taking the car over on the ferry, in addition to two nights accommodation.

How much time should we leave for our wedding photographs?
It depends on what you have planned – how many guests you are hoping to have with you. Lewis weddings normally have more (or bigger!) group shots, so I’ll advise more specifically for each wedding.

It’s always worth having an earlier wedding where you can – aim for a 1pm ceremony and the afternoon won’t feel so rushed.

Can we go to our favourite part of the island for our wedding photographs?
Yes, hopefully. If the weather is kind, and we have the time in our timetable. I know of plenty of other great spots for wedding photography throughout the island, either in Stornoway or beyond.
